Janet is an excellent writer and from her early days at writing she manages to capture you into the story very early on. The romance it totally forced and contrived - throw two people into a story and make them love each other for no reason. The plot is ridiculous and stupid. I've gotten as far as - girl loves/hates boy, boy loves girl, boy and girl get a baby shoved into their laps and decide to 'play house,' boy and girl are planning to cook Thanksgiving dinner. It's virtually plot-free and has no supporting characters deeper than a wading pool.
