 Rating:  - 'Tis a puzzlement ...It seems unlikely that a truly scholarly book would mention "the Pentateuch (those books between the Old and New Testament that Catholics include in their Bible)" on its back cover (as well as in their editorial review). One hardly knows where to start in commenting on this reference. There is the obvious mistake that they are apparently referring not to the Pentateuch, but to the Apocryphal/ Deuterocanonical books (which, btw, are revered not only by Roman Catholics, but also Eastern Orthodox Christians). ... Rating: - The best bible I have ever used I had to buy this particular bible for a class I took and I fell in love with it. It is incredibly informative, the footnotes are excellent, and the new revised version of the text makes so much more sense! It is fantastic! This has even become the bible I use for my personal, religious use as well. It's brilliant and so much more than the New Oxford Annotated, which I've also had to buy for classes.
