Both a rare first novel and a new American classic, Sams novel has been compared to Tom Sawyer and To Kill a Mockingbird. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Needed: Tissues for Tears of LaughterIf you loved the farm, WWII, and young boys, grab a box of facial tissues and sit down for more than 200 pages of laughs. This is one of the most nostalgic, entertaining books I have ever read. Rating: - AmericanaWonderful narrative of an era in Southern History. Funny, tender and insightful. Also reminds me of my childhood memories. Rating: - Review of "Run With the Horsemen"Really enjoyed Ferrol Sams book "Run with the Horsemen" which is the first in a trilogy. I am currently reading the last book which is, "When all the World Was Young" Being a southerner myself, I can relate to many of the experiences that young Osborne had. I couldn't help but roar at times at his escapades, and highly recommend this series of books by Sams. Rating: - The SouthAs a guy born in Arkansas in the 30s this book was a terrific look at life as I knew it in the south. I think it is a lovely read for either nostalgia or information or both. I recommend it to anyone interested in the reality of the real south. Rating: - Quality literature! This coming-of-age novel is rich. It conveys the nuances of rural Southern culture, as well as the universal joys and problems of growing up.
