It is imprecise and repetitive as a whole and even within each chapter. The book could easily be written in 1/4 of the current 512 pages. Its format seems to be its downfall -different authors for each chapter. Yet even this cannot explain its baffling chapter-internal arrangements. This book really helped me understand the development of language. The book was particularly useful for me, because I am studying to be a School Psychologist. This book is a comprehensive introduction to language acquisition. It is easy to follow, yet thorough.
