Unlike most texts on the American political system, DEMOCRACY FOR THE FEW emphasizes the political economy of public policy and who gets what. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Intelligent criticism of America from a left-leaning moderateThis is a stinging critique of America from a left-leaning analyst which includes a surprising number of smart non-partisan recommendations. Parenti is also a significant non-partisan reformer, although he wanders into traditionally socialist territory when he examines themes like wealth inequality. Rating: - Parenti is brilliant!!I am using this book for my political science class and Michael Parenti's viewpoints are concise and accurate. He does an excellent job of using endnotes at the end of each chapter to allow for further research into some of the subjects he touches on. This book is definately an alternative viewpoint to what "the liberal media" deems fit to tell us. Rating: - Good bookI am taking a class that required me to have this book. I found myself reading ahead of what was required from the class.
