I was raised in the Christian tradition, but I was a little put off by the focus, especially the section that said women are supposed to be homemakers and submit to their husbands! I also felt it was designed for more naive, younger readers who haven't quite figured themselves out. I'm an independent woman in my 30s who is earning my PhD. My husband and I read through this when we started to consider marriage and absolutely loved it. We really enjoyed the interaction and activity oriented tasks as we were challenged to dig deeper and to prepare for marriage! Wonderful for couples that haven't been married before, opens the lines of communication as well as shedding light any assumptions each may be carrying about marriage. The rest is very well thought out and creates a real atmosphere of learning about one another (that is, as long as you are truthful with your answers).
