 Rating: - Illuminated Letter DesignThis particular book is best used as inspiration for those who are doing scrolls or illumination. The subject matter is primarily ecclesiastical it is the layout of the letters, the embellishments and border designs which are outstanding. I would recomment this book to anyone doing historical scrolls or illumination as a source of design. Rating:  - Great Book for ScribesI ordered many books to help me learn to be a scribe in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism.) This book has proven to be very useful. I highly recommend it for those needing inspiration for their illuminated manuscript creation. Rating: - Illuminated letter designsThis book has many original letter designs in black and white and many of them are very interesting. Rating:  - Needs color...This book has only black and white drawings of initials not color photos or pictures. It looks more like a coloring book than a reference manual. It does give a nice blurb on the history of illuminated initials but to see them in color that would have matched the cover would have been nice. Rating: - My 2 centsThis book gives many ideas for the budding scribe-though only showing the finished design. It doesn't go into the how to much.
