![]() Rating: - AA I WANT THE REAL BIG BOOK ON KINDLE :)I recently purchased a Kindle and thought it would be so cool to have the BIG BOOK from AA on there and when I went to this site I found they have various editions which may not be the real AA BIG BOOK nor do they have it on KINDLE. So, now I am confused as to which one to purchase as I want the newer edition. Disappointment to say the least and then in starting to read the reviews...well AA is there for those who choose it. It is how you apply it to your life that will determine your path. Some ... Read More Rating: - False Sense of HopeThe only reason this program was successful is because it labeled alcoholism as a disease, and so it got implemented into treatment centers that are paid by insurance. AA says alcoholism is a "spiritual" disorder. This is to then say that spiritual disorders are diseases. Nonsense! This book offers no help to anyone who has logic and sense. It doesn't tell you that even if you follow the steps, that you'll still have to attend meetings for the rest of your life. Rating: - Alcoholics Anonymous--(The Big Book)If you're struggling with alcohol, this is your Bible. It is essential to have and read this book if you have any hope of freeing yourself from alcohol. This book will only help (in most cases) in conjunction with other steps one needs to to take to heal. The first and foremost is joining AA and working through the steps with a sponsor and the support of your AA group. If you think you might need help with an alcohol problem, you do! Rating: - Its Time Has PassedThis overhyped book is basically for people of low worth and low intellect who won't face the truth about this dishonest cult of ignorance, ego and hypocrisy. After all these years and four editions (plenty of time to correct itself) it's still attributing a quote to Herbert Spencer that he never made... and that's only the start of of the unexamined claims and sick pieties of this "book." You don't want to drink, don't drink. You don't need to get maudlin about it, and kneejerk sickening sentimentality ... Read More Rating: - This book has saved hundreds of thousands of liveslives! This book tells exactly how hundreds of thousands of real alcoholics have been saved from alcoholism. How can anyone be critical of that if it works? Only the stupid, or ignorant can criticize a book which has literally saved so many people from certain death (not to mention the thousands more they could have victimized). It is truly a miracle, by virtue of all of the people it has saved. True, there are thousands more who have failed the program of recovery this book details, but in that is the ... Read More
