 Rating:  - Parents: READ this before you make a decisionWe own several SAT vocab books, and this is the first one I've ever seen that uses references that I feel are inappropriate and/or unneccesary for teenagers. I believe there are intelligent ways an author can capture the attention of teens without having to relate to sex. I was able to finish it before I entered high school (I am currently a sophomore) and I still remember all of the words. I haven't taken the SAT yet, but I couldn't imagine using this book to study right before it. So I recommend that you purchase a different book if you are in a hurry because this book takes investing of time and energy. This is my favorite way to learn vocabulary words because it's not rote memorization, it's an understanding of the word and how it's used. There are pronunciation hints too so when you've learned the words, you can use them in your everyday speech.
