![]() Rating: - Great ResourceWe use this book as a point of reference. It is very easy to read and provides real world examples. Rating: - Great bookThis is great book that really gets down to the nitty and gritty details of VI3. The book does a decent job as a training manual for VMware's VI3, but mostly it is just a reference manual, a very comprehensive reference manual. In regards to the book itself, the book is an awkward shape and size. It's smaller then most books in height and especially width (the book is a little skinny). I would have liked the book to be a more standard format (9x6.6/9x7), maybe then there would be ... Read More Rating: - Playbook and an interesting readI bought the previous revision of this book when I stepped into my first VMware environment consisting of two SANs, six hosts, and a lot of questions. It was fairly insightful but lacked enough support of VI3.5. Now that I am running a global VM infrastructure with 3.5 throughout, it was time to upgrade the text. I was not disappointed. I have essentially based the new production farms' configs on examples from this book (tweaked for our environment) but the underlying logic has earned several compliments ... Read More Rating: - Great BookThis is a very good book and I'm looking forward for the next books from these three gurus. I've been implementing virtualization solutions for three years now and this is a very handy book !! Kind regards Rating: - Content depth lacking but overall a decent book for people new to virtualizationI waited for months to be able to purchase the VI3 ATDG once I first heard good reviews of the first version of the book from two VMware employees. However, I was unfortunately somewhat disappointed when I received the book and began reading. The book does cover most of VMware VI3 topics; though the authors took a very high level approach where items are quickly brushed over and you are left with the feeling that this book really isn't an "advanced" design guide but more of an addition to what you would ...
