![]() Rating: - This book does not address the essense of dyslexia only rules of reading In just reviewing this book, the very first sentence of chapter one is troubling. It assumes that the child can recognize all the letters of the alphabet and their sounds. The very essesnce of dyslexia is that children do not easily recognize letters (concept imagery) and/or they cannot distinquish the cooresponding sounds of each letter in isolation (phonemic awareness). He is an 11yo boy with dyslexia. I have found this book to be extremely helpful. I appreciate the way it is laid out step by step. Each step building upon the last. Review is crucial for us and I give him plenty of that, using index cards and just reviewing the previous lessons. I highly recommend this workbook for a dyslexic student.
