But it also breaks new ground in worldview analysis.” —World Magazine “Pearcey is an outstanding writer with the ability not only to express deep thoughts in a very readable way, but one who also understands a biblically reformed world and life view. If you buy only one book this year, this would be at the top of the list.” —Equip for Ministry “Pearcey helps readers see how many modern Christians unwittingly accept a sacred/secular split, which allows them to relegate faith to the private sphere of life. She then clearly puts forth a Scriptural picture of integrating all of life under the liberating Lordship of Christ and shows what that truth means for the areas of public policy, family life, science, business, law, education, and more.” —Covenant Magazine “Total Truth questions the modern American cultural attitude of keeping religion a private matter, claiming that Christianity’s truth is best served by being brought into the public sphere to maximize its influence.” —Midwest Book Review “Thoroughly researched, well-written and well-argued, Total Truth will prove to be a useful and easily accessible guidebook for many who seek to develop a comprehensive biblical worldview that affects not only beliefs but actions.” —CaliforniaRepublic.org How can you liberate Christianity from its cultural captivity? In this superbly crafted cultural analysis, a noted author passionately argues that Christianity is truth about all reality, not just religious truth, and that to keep it privatized is stripping it of the power to challenge and redeem the whole of culture. ![]() Rating: - Pseudo ScienceThis book is a desperate attempt by the Religious Right to discredit evolution. The fundamentalists know very well that with evolution there is no fall of mankind (Since it evolved maneas not born perfect) and therefore no need for redemption. The whole theological underpinnings of Christianity crumble. This book is not even worth a skim and should be tossed. Rating: - Discover the difference between Conservative thinking and Liberal thinkingThis book displays in graphic detail why even Liberal Christians and those in Politics think the way they do and why Conservative Christians and those in Politics think. It put into words what I have always thought. Thank you Nancy!!! Rating: - A Book Borrowed, Soon to be BoughtIn a postmodern age of conflicting World-views and relegated religious values, Pearcy's book hits hard with pinpoint accuracy. A diagnosis of modern thought, the history which led to it, and the schism of ideas that we now accept in the public sphere, Total Truth is not just a deconstruction of modern naturalism, it draws a picture of a completed Christian Worldview. I borrowed this book from a friend, but will soon add it to my library. I highly recommend "Total Truth." Rating: - Insightful research on a present-day dilemmaAs a Christian, I have found myself at odds with the Christian culture without fully understanding why. Nancy Pearcey has done the research and answered a lot of my intuitive questions. Rather than expressing a judgmental opinion, she has sought the facts to build understanding which can lead to a wise response. This is a right-on book for today. Rating: - A valuable contribution to the importance of Christianity, culturally! This book intelligibly offers why Christianity should and can prevail regardless of its cultural context. Pearcey is a well-qualified author to write this sort of book. Consider this book to be a handbook to modern times and Christianity's involvement to the most important issues of our day. For a thorough "manifesto" that can lead contemporary evangelicals into the contemporary cultural discussion, along with being a worthwhile companion to TOTAL TRUTH, I heartily recommend JP Moreland's KINGDOM ...
