Four couples have been murdered. Only their abandoned automobiles are discovered at first; their remains and clothing turn up months later, deep in the woods. Now a fifth couple has disappeared. Again, their unoccupied car is found with the keys still in the ignition. There is no sign of violence, but a bloodhound brought to the scene reacts strongly to something he smells on the front seat. Why were these young people chosen as victims? What common thread links them? Why did all of them stop their cars for their killer? And how were they able to get so far into dense, virtually impenetrable woods without shoes and socks? Dr. Kay Scarpetta, Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Virginia, is presented with almost insurmountable odds to overcome before she can solve the case. "All That Remains" is riveting in Bookcassette Audio, and will keep readers spellbound from its opening scene tot he final devastating twist. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Mediocre writing produces an unimpressive whodunit.Kay Scarpetta. Richmond's Chief Medical Examiner, with a full house, and a lot of unsolved homicides. Among other things, she's a part of an ongoing investigation which seems to have no end in sight. Over the course of a few years, ten bodies have shown up, five couples, who's mysterious disappearances and eventual reveal prove nothing short of baffling to all those involved. The State of Virginia, the FBI and it's lead man, FBI Special Agent Benton Wesley, the local police, the State ME, no one ... Rating: - I Enjoy Kay Scarpetta! The book arrived very quickly and was in the exact condition as specified. Would definately purchase from seller again. Rating: - Vintage ScarpettaThis 1992 Kay Scarpetta novel by Patricia Cornwell concerns the killing of a series of young couples. It is vintage Scarpetta when Lucy was innocent, Marino was strong, and Kay had few self doubts. I read (reread actually) it back to back with one of Cornwell's latest Scarpetta novels and was amazed at how much more I enjoyed the earlier work. For anyone who started reading Cornwell in later years and didn't enjoy her, I would recommend this earlier work. Rating: - Nothing LeftI really like Patricia Cornwell. I have read all of her novels and while this is not the best of the best it is still good. I read this about four years ago and from time to time it draws me back to it. I think that Ms. Cornwell's research into the subject matter that she writes about is fantastic. I can visualize her words as I read and those are the books that I like most. I will continue to be a fan and I'm waiting for the new release next month!
