Often I've found that "modern or updated" versions lose much of things we loved from the "old" stories as children. The illustrations are updated and clever. When the wolf blows down the houses the pigs hold onto the edge of the page. Also, each of the pigs has a little helper. However, I don't have a reader, so I made up my own version. I tell my son the pigs packed a lunch for a long day out playing. They got cold & decided to build some houses. So, if you want the traditional story, this is the book to purchase. Rating: - I liked the book.This is an old story but I liked the way this book told it. The pictures are great. Rating:  - A very nice version of a classic storyHaving bought other stories in the same series, I got the Three little Pigs in the Keepsake Classic series as well and I am not disappointed. I like the illustrations alot and the fact that the wolf is kinda drawn in a goofy, non-scary way. I think it is a really good version.....the only thing I found odd were the first 2 pages where the 3 pigs go out on their own...there is no explanation exactly what they mean but there is a picture of what looks like their parents saying good bye and waving a hankie ...
