Editorial Review: Product Description: "Contains...imaginative art objects...Hanson builds enthusiasm in his text for the craft, and he does it with wit."--Arts & Activities In a newly revised and expanded version of his original success, celebrated folk artist Bobby Hanson takes the humble tin can and elevates it to art. On display in attention-grabbing photos are an array of quirky objects that will delight and amaze--and all it takes to make them are a few simple tools, some cans, and these simple instructions on cutting, shaping, riveting, and soldering. The charmingly fun projects include some childlike objects such as whistles, trucks, and airplanes; a "Tin Pan Alley" series of musical instruments, including a "canjo" and chimes; and even stunning jewelry and sculptures. Artists, metal crafters, and anyone seeking a new creative outlet will find inspiration aplenty in these uniquely original ideas and projects. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - FabulousBobby Hansson's book is the best. So many fine examples of creative and clever work using a common throw away, all are the embodiment of trash to treasure. I fell in love with tin cans after seeing the first edition of this book. Bobby Hansson travels around the country giving workshops and is a funny and inspiring teacher, too. Rating: - fine art of the tin canhas great photos, and ideas. it's a great inspirational book. Rating: - Pure pleasure and inspirationJust received this book and only reluctantly put it down. If your creative urges lean towards the unusual you'll not be disappointed in Hansson's tin can art. He shares his techniques and his own 'personal art history' with a style that's both conversational and folksy. You won't be able to look at a tin can the same way after reading this book! Rating: - Pleasant MisunderstandingThe book was interesting. I thought it was going to be more of a how to do book.
