Editorial Review: Product Description: Wheat-free-cooking expert Carol Fenster reveals her time-saving tips and techniques to help cooks put homemade meals on the table in a flash. In Carol Fenster's gluten-free cooking classes, the most frequently asked question is "How can I get a meal on the table in the least amount of time?" So often, cooking gluten-free means spending hours in the kitchen-making everything from scratch. But now, Fenster reveals all her shortcuts, tips, and timesaving techniques from nearly twenty years as the gluten-free cooking authority. The Quick & Easy principles in this book will get cooks in and out of the kitchen with less fuss than ever before. In Gluten-Free Quick & Easy, a hot meal makes it to the table without a complicated ingredient list or a lengthy wait. Fenster emphasizes the necessity of "planned-overs"-not "left-overs"- that creatively use elements of one meal in the preparation of another, whether it becomes an ingredient the next day, the next week, or the next month. Recipes for make-ahead baking mixes and techniques to shorten baking times means cooks stay on track. And her comprehensive menu plans and ideas help pull together a week's worth of meals with ease. Fenster's simple but delicious recipes include favorites like hearty breads, pizzas, and pasta. In less time than ever before, gluten-free cooks can whip up homestyle entrÂŽes and side dishes, tasty breakfasts, and elegant desserts for every meal of the day, every day of the week. ![]() Rating: - great starter bookI purchased this book shortly after being diagnosed with Celiac, and have found that Carols flour mix is very palatable. In the area where I live it can be challenging to find all the different flours to make the over all mix, but with the help of friends and family i have been able to make many recipes in this book. With the expense of these flours, if you are in a pinch, try the Gluten Free Pantry's all purpose flour mix. It creates just as good results, just a bit grainier than Carols mix due ... Read More Rating: - Great EatsThis book is great. We tried other cook books for gluten free diet and this is one of the best. I would highly recommend it for those who need to be gluten free. Rating: - Practical, helpful meals - love this book!I get a little skeptical ordering books that claim to be "quick and easy" especially when it says it's also "gluten free." This cookbook has been great. I've had it about 2 weeks, read a bunch of the beginning and made 2 of the meals. The roasted chicken and the Chinese Lemon Chicken are delicious and easy. These recipes satisfy our allergy needs AND the satisfy my husband's taste buds. A great combination! Rating: - More goodnessA fine addition to the conversation on gluten-free foods. Readers will find many recipes for dishes they are familiar with here. The Gluten-free Guide to Vegetarian Recipes Rating: - Use it all the timeThe recipes are fairly simple to make, love the flour mixes, and the foods are tasty for being gluten-free. I'm still getting used to this new way of eating and miss my whole wheat. But I feel much better and this cookbook makes it possible.
