![]() Rating: - Professional dance teachers bewareI see one of the dance teachers in this book appallingly manipulative. The author reminds me of the child-like characters in H.G. Wells' "The Time Machine" refusing to discuss the situation she is in or worse yet the whole curriculum as a child's "esteem building" summer camp where everyone wins. She glorifies her dance instructor as one of the great mentors but he really compares to a used car salesman. I would think this book could be used in a court of law as proof of impropriety or at least ... The author hopes to perhaps establish a mutual bond with experienced dancers and to prepare the neophyte for his first dance lessons. Neither one of these is true. As an experienced dancer, I felt no mutual bond and as a newcomer, there is no way this book could have prepared me for the dance studio experience.
