Editorial Review: Product Description: Packed with 300 tasty, healthy recipes, The Everything Glycemic Index Cookbook is designed to accommodate those watching their blood sugar levels. The glycemic index is a measure of how foods affect blood glucose levels, which in turn affects the rate of digestion. It's especially useful for those watching their weight, and those with diabetes who need to regulate their sugar intake. Using the nutritional information included with each recipe, readers can determine the amount of fat, carbs, calories, and protein in each serving, in addition to the glycemic load (the overall rating of ingredients on the glycemic index). ![]() Rating: - Awkward setupRecipes are set up weird. I really didn't care for this book. Lots of filler, it seemed. Rating: - Everything Glycemic Index Cook BookTypical special diet cookbook. Most of the recipies included are things I don't have in the kitchen and some I don't even know where to buy. Why can't someone publish a cookbook that has normal food? Rating: - A great cookbookIf you have read at all about the glycemic index and find it interesting then this is the book for you. There is a recipe for everyone in this book, even some that will allow you to use real sugar and still be considered green/yellow light. I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to change their eating habits to a more healthy regimen. Rating: - Recipes aren't LOW GIAs a person who has been on this diet for over a year with very successful results, after reading this book I was appaled that the author considers the recipes low GI. Most of the recipes are for regular food not LOW GI meals!! Rating: - everything glymetic indexAs a 70 year old I am having difficulty understanding diabetes, I found this book most interesting & very helpful sorting out my diet, having always eaten everything good & bad I now consult my book & find I'm eating things I'd never heard of! Good Value
