A well-known actress was shot outside her home in Beverly Hills. Shortly afterward, an editor for the Los Angeles Times receives an e-mail describing the murder in vivid detail. Alex quickly learns that this is not an isolated incident. The killer, known as Mary Smith, has done this before and plans to kill again. Right from the beginning, this case is like nothing Alex has ever confronted. Is this the plan of an obsessed fan or a spurned actor, or is it part of something much more frightening? And particularly baffling, how could a woman be capable of these vicious crimes? Members of Hollywoods A-list fear theyre next on Marys list, and the case grows by blockbuster proportions as the LAPD and FBI scramble to find a pattern before Mary can send one more chilling update. Filled with the ruthless and shocking twists that make his fans hunger for more, MARY, MARY is James Pattersons most sophisticated thriller yet. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - could not put it downWOW. This is the first James Patterson novel I had read, it was a gift from my sister. I read it at the boring hospital while my mom was in there, and I must say I am very glad she gave it to me. I could not put it down. I read for hours and hours each day. I loved it. It is usually hard for me to read at a hospital with all the distractions, but i was so into this book i did not really notice any distractions other than trying to finish this awesome book. I am a patterson fan now after this ... Read More Rating: - Not a suspense thriller, just an average murder storyThis was another 200 page short story spread over 392 pages with generous margins and a lot of white space with 121 chapters. But it was an easy read, much better than most of the previous books in the Alex Cross series except the first three which were four star. There was not a lot of actual detective work with Alex following up on clues. For example almost at the end the villain and a reporter show up in Vermont without the reader being made aware of how or why they choose to be there. ... Read More Rating: - Mind CapturingI started listening to the Alex Cross series years ago and I have never been let down. This book "Mary,Mary" captures your mind and I literally have to make myself take out a finished CD and turn off the stereo. By far, this is one of the best books in this series that I have read or listened to. This book is a MUST read or a MUST listen. IT CAPTURES THE MIND and DOES NOT LET GO!!! Rating: - James Patterson is back in form!Top females on Hollywood's A-list are being murdered in a particularly vicious manner. The details of each killing make it clear that the motives are entirely personal. After each killing (and in one case almost during the killing itself), the murderer sends an e-mail to a Hollywood entertainment writer gloating about the murder and virtually daring the police to come and get her. Yes, you read that correctly ... "HER"! The e-mails are all signed "Mary Smith"! Top FBI Agent Alex Cross, much to his chagrin ...
