Editorial Review: Product Description: Publication of Prevention’s Maximum Immunity couldn’t be more timely. As health experts are ever more loudly sounding the alarm about the dangers of a flu pandemic and the general rise in treatment-resistant disease strains, men and women increasingly find themselves juggling hectic, stressful schedules that deplete their immune defenses. Now Prevention, the magazine widely recognized as the premier source for cutting-edge, authoritative health information, examines the various lifestyle factors that influence immune function—including diet/nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, and environment—to construct a scientifically sound, 28-day program that measurably improves the body’s ability to ward off illness both short- and long-term. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Helpful bookThis is a good compiliation of current information on improving immunity - no revelations, but good basic advice and practical suggestions. I ignored the 4 week plan, but gained some helpful knowledge. The book does have one error. From page 221: "Asian pears are a cross between an apple and a pear." That is not true. Asian pears may look kind of like apples, but they are pears, from the species Pyrus pyrifolia. (Regular pears are Pyrus communis.) Rating: - Helpful, practical guide to good healthThis book is fairly simple and common sense in its approach-- basic guidelines about eating right, stress reduction, exercise, etc. In a sense, it doesn't include anything earth-shattering, but it helps to have it all in an easy-to-read, no-nonsense form. I have found the book to be helpful, enjoyable, and somewhat informative as well.
