I don't believe it should replace your regular, but it is an excellent resource for getting another view on what a specific passage could mean. Rating: - It's nice to hear this versionI like to read The Message out loud. Hearing the words as I read them adds another dimension to reading the Bible. If I'm working on a bible study of some sort I use my NIV versions but I enjoy using The Message as a additional source. Rating: - Great Book in a Lovely PackageI love this Bible. It is 7.5 x 5.5 x 1.5", weighs 1 lb 9 oz, and very flexible in your hand. Love the soft, leather-like exterior. It lays flat on a surface when opened and has a "lifetime" guarantee! If the binding fails or you "just wear it out from use, you may return it for a free replacement" in the U.S. The cream colored paper is easy on the eyes, AND it does read more like a novel. It is more pleasureable to "just read" than other translations, however I'm using it for Bible ...
