 Rating:  - This book was a surprisingly good read despite the slow beginningI had bought this book over the summer and got about 150 pages into before I left for college and had to focus on reading for my classes. Over this past Christmas break I got back reading this book and I had good hopes for it because two friends of mine had already finished it. I thought the beginning was slow, but I stuck it out because some of the best books or series start out slow. I bought it after i finished the Twilight series and was not disappointed. The Host is a great story and I was sad for it to be over, although the ending was good. It started off a little slower than i expected, but picked up quickly. I absolutely love the way Meyer makes u feel like you ARE the narrator. i felt happy when she was happy, cried when she cried. she is a compelling writer and i highly reccommend anything she writes! i cant wait until she writes another piece!! Rating: - Very Pleasantly SurprisedWhat could have been a cheezy body snatcher basis was skillfully executed and well thought out. I would love to see this as a movie. I hope that there is a sequel and maybe even a prequel to cover the invasion story. Meyer is an easy read and her writing style flows well (at least in my head). Hey, it was entertaining and I cared about how it would end (even if I didn't love how everything was "resolved").
