The Amazon Store at MillionDollarPetPix.com ( In association with Amazon.com )Soul of a Highlander (The Daughters of the Glen, Book 3) - Delightful Addition to my Keeper Shelf!Third in Melissa Mayhue's Daughters of the Glen series, SOUL OF A HIGHLANDER follows the story of two wonderful characters first introduced in THIRTY NIGHTS WITH A HIGHLAND HUSBAND [June 2007] and HIGHLAND GUARDIAN [October 2007]. Faerie Magic rescued Mairi MacKiernan from certain death in 1272 and whisked her to safety in the twenty-first century, but at the cost of her dreams of ever finding happiness. When she discovers the last Daughter of the MacKiernan family was murdered in 1295, she knows it's up to her to demand Faerie Magic transport her back in time so she can save her line. Captured by the same evil men she'd barely escaped before can Mairi save anyone, including herself, from certain destruction? Ramos Servans dedicated himself to service as a Guardian after he discovered the evil unleashed on the Mortal Plain by his father and their people. He's determined to atone and rid the world of Nuadian deceit, but he doesn't count on complicating his mission by rescuing a beautiful, independently minded Highland lassie that teases his senses and fires his passion. After being introduced to Ramos in Mayhue's last novel, I could hardly wait to get my hands on SOUL OF A HIGHLANDER. He's every bit as delicious as I'd hoped yet conflicted as well by the guilt that resets him on his path of atonement. Mairi doesn't realize her path intersects with her sexy Guardian's and that they will face dangers together that will change both of their lives forever. I love the Fae world Mayhue has created, and this third novel in the series is a delightful addition to my Keeper Shelf! Rating: - Good, But Not as Good as the First 2I loved the 1st. 2 Daughter's of the Glen books Melissa Mayhue. This 3rd. in the series was lacking, and not as good. Still it wasn't dreadful and I will read more of her books when she comes out with them. Rating: - Great read!Another Great read! I really am enjoying this author. I read the book coverto cover with no complaints. Fun and enjoyable, I can't wait for the next one. Rating: - DisappointedI had eagerly awaited reading this book, and just finished it. Sadly, I was very disappointed. I had read Highland Guardian first, and really liked it - it turned me on to the genre. I next read Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband (which was actually the first in the series) and enjoyed it immensely, too - especially since there were distict differences, yet both flowed together. This book, in comparison to the other two, is not nearly as: 1) intriguing or 2)romantic. While the others were fresh, this seemed stale. Maybe I am mostly disappointed because I was madly in love with Ramos after Guardian, and yet here he is simply another he-man, boring hero. Rating: - Another awesome book by Melissa Mayhue...I enjoyed this one almost as much as the first. I did enjoy it more than the second book. I thought Mairi & Ramos had great chemistry together! I made myself only read about 50 pages a day-just to make it last longer, but thought about it all day long. That's the making of a great book isn't it?-thinking about it all day long when you're not reading it! I enjoy how she brings in the characters from the first two books, all the while adding more characters, possibly to fit into her next book. (which I'm anxiously awaiting!) The one complaint I have is that the only time in her three books that she's introduced a Christian into her stories, is that she had to be portrayed as a fearful, obsessive, fanatical, over-the-top downright mean and nasty one!! And a traitor at that! Hey Melissa Mayhue, if you're reading this, Christians like reading romance novels too, and they aren't like that. :) Can't wait for the next one as her writing is so real and tantalizing! page 1 of 2
