However, the majority of the suffering stems from the Arab countries who have kept the Palestinians locked in camps for 40 years and kept out of the Arab cities (and countries) so that they could be used as a political football. He glosses over the Jew hatred by the Palestinians and Arab leadership and tries to lay the blame for the Mideast peace failuires at the feet of the Israelis. While the Israelis made peace with Egypt decades ago, the Egyptian press, government and people have continued to hate Jews and accuse this tiny minority of everything from controlling the world economy to trying to conquer the entire Arab world. Israel withdrew from Lebanon and was thanked with Hizbollah bombs; Israel withdrew from Gaza and was thanked with Hamas bombs. President Carter cannot get beyond his own prejudices to fairly deal with this subject. The book is either extremely naive or misplaced propoganda. Some might not agree with the book, but truth be told this is a must read with those who are obssessed with the holocaust, but cant see the jews commiting the same atrocities they love to complain about. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world. When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, theMadrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in: Afghanistan -- Muslim 100% Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100% Somalia -- Muslim 100% Yemen -- Muslim 100% Unfortunately, peace in never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons. The national police do not dare even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts nor schools nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, MuslimImams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate. Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddists, andJews, and all other believers. At current rates Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century. Finally an unprejudiced person in authority speaks the truth. Zionists may argue that he's lying and his book is biased. But I implore you to read this book with an open mind. He was an integral part of the mid-east peace process, and as such has merit to write a book of this nature. It is completely free of bias. He points out the flaws of both sides, as well as the good on both sides. His book is not Pro-Israel, or Pro-Palestine...it's Pro-Peace. If you want an unbiased analysis of the Mid-East, by a man involved in the process, this is the book for you.
