This is my loyal old cat Fiddle. She is great company for me since I am retired and live alone. (We used to have a small dog as a pet many years ago.) Fiddle is always around the place. She sits with me on the deck, in the sunroom or follows me around as I do my gardening.
When we're inside this big old cat loves to steal my rocking chair in the kitchen where she can keep an eye on the bird feeders and dream about the good old days of being able to chase birds. She's a terrific pet.
Fiddle used to live next door but when the apartment buidling burnt down she seemed to hang around in the rubble waiting for someone to claim her. I felt sorry for her so used to put out milk on the back deck. She'd take it when I went away into the house. Finally I had a chat with her. This is how she got the name Fiddle... I said, "Quit fiddling around, no one is going to look after you over there. You're welcome to come over here to live!" She must have understood me, as she came right over and has been here ever since, going on five years now. Fiddle is such good company, especially in the winter. This lovely old cat curls up on my lap when I watch T.V. and seems to be quite content to be my friend. I'm so glad she decided to move in.
