My beautiful horse is called Nilla, which you may have guessed is short for Vanilla... a name which is way toooo long to use when calling a pet. Right? Right!
Nilla is a strong and proud horse and I just love her coloring and the way she looks when she is running, like in this picture which is my fav of her. She looks so great when she is running in our fields too or in her enclosure near our barn.
The reason I got her as a gift last year for my birthay is becasue I am crazy in love with horseback riding, as are all my girlfriends. We often get together and go trail riding in the area on the weekends.
I try to take Nilla out for a ride every day as we both like the exercise and riding a horse is like flying in a way... it feels so free. I have taken lots of riding lessons, Dressage mostly, and am proud of our progress. I am not doing jumps yet but probably will by the Fall of 2007. I sometimes like to show off what I've learned. I can get Nilla to back up while I close a latch on a gate. Way cool!
Sometimes I put an regular saddle on her and do the cowboy routine through the nearby hills, but mostly I use an English saddle and get all my gear on too... looks rather cute I think.
