Chipmunks always amuse our family. We love squirrels (some would say Tree Rats!) but we think chipmunks are more fun. Maybe it is their small size and quicker movements. We've adopted Higgens as our garden pet. Higgens has made our garden wall his play area. There are overhanging shrubs that provide a haven and shade. He darts back and forth all day long hiding food and guarding his territory. We've not yet seen a Mrs. Higgens or babies, but hope to soon.
Once in a while we bring special treats out to our garden pet pal and leave them for him on the end of the wall. His delight is always apparent as he rushes away to store his new-found treasures.
