This great, black, gentle canine is called Roscoe. He's a Puggle… that's a Pug/Beagle/mix. Because I am a cat person there are not too many dogs of any breed that I am close to or take any special interest in. Roscoe is one of the few dogs that has a corner in my heart. That’s why I decided to make him a gift of this star as I feel he deserves this corner of fame in your pet time capsule.
I first met Roscoe at Christmas 2005 in Alabama. He was my niece’s Christmas present from her husband. This little creature was such a cute and playful puppy. My niece was overjoyed with him.
When I next saw Roscoe, one year later in their new home in Denver, he was already full grown. He weighed 40 lbs... quite a difference from the 15 pounds (expected adult weight) that they were originally told that this Puggle would be. What a surprise!
Roscoe and I bonded because he quickly learned who the treat person was. I kept his treats at the ready in my pocket as I couldn’t resist his adorable, pleading face looking up at me.
A new baby was added to the family a little over a year ago. Roscoe has become her caring protector. He loves the baby and is very gentle with her.
Roscoe and his family are now living in California. I am looking forward to my next visit with all of them. I hope Roscoe will remember me. Just to be sure… I’ll have lots of doggie treats ready!
