Muriel, named after one of my chatty co-workers, is a blue and yellow budgie bird and our family pet. She chatter, chatter, chatters a lot and is a great diversion. She is very alert and interested in the family activity, especially the antics of the children.
We recently had an extra large cage built for Muriel which even has a real tree in it. There is also a large red swing which she loves. She hops back and forth from the tree to the swing, over and over.
At the end of her very posh abode we installed the requisite large mirror. It is really lovely to watch as Muriel chatters away to herself and preens in front of the mirror for hours. She is a delightful pet.
Muriel loves when we let her fly around in our gazebo. Sometimes she flys around the yard and perches in trees there, but she always comes back.
On Sundays we take her in a smaller cage when we visit my Mom who is in a retirement villa. Mom and her friends there love to see Muriel as she makes them laugh. Budgies are very sociable and we know it won't be long before we get another one as a mate for our dear friend Muriel.
