On our small hobby farm we get a lot of wildlife visiting. This fawn we've named Chewy is one of them. Cute eh? We call him Chewy since that is mainly what he likes to do, besides sleeping.
We've often found him curled up under our apple trees during the heat of the day. Chewy and his whole family haves become like pets to us.
Chewy visits every morning and early evening.
He follows his mom and siblings down a well-worn deer trail behind our house to the salt licks we've placed near our family room windows. This way we get to see these beautiful animals all the time.
They have become a lovely part of our world.
We have built a special small and raised hay manger for these beautiful visitors along with a water trough. They love this and we love them. Once the apple trees are ripe these dear deer will be helping themselves to some of those treats as well.
