It makes me happy to share with you the story about Max, my Numero Uno cat... and our pet star!
Originally, I wasn’t going to keep Max; I just wanted to find this little kitten a good home. It all started like this …. I met my husband, Jack, 15 years ago. I had 2 Bombay cats, Lucky and Boobie. Jack was so allergic to cats that he couldn't come to my place.
Because I was so in love with Jack I said,"You better be worth it Honey, for me to have to part with these two wonderful cats." I was able to find them a great home together which was really important to me as I didn't want them to be split up. My heart was broken, but I had Jack and still do.
Two years ago Max came into my life. I'm the manager of a pet store. One day as I was leaving work and walking to my car I saw from the corner of my eye something moving. A purr was not too far off. I turned my head and there he was. It was June but still a bit chilly for the kitten that I set my eyes on and fell in love with. He was shaking as if he was cold or scared. I looked around for awhile to see if anyone was looking for him. I didn't see anyone so I picked him up; he seemed to be happy that I did.
Since Jack is a fireman, he stays at work for 24 hours. That night he was on a 24 hour tour. I figured that I could find kitty a home really fast, since he was so adorable. I started making calls... but no luck! Time was running short and Jack was about to come home. I decided I better tell him; I really didn't know what he was going to say or for that matter feel. Are the sneezes going to kick in? Jack got home. I had mentioned that I was looking for a home for a cat...that I wasn't very successful...and that the cat was still in the bathroom. So he asked me if he could see the little kitty...I said YES...come look... and you know what....it was HISTORY...Jack was head over heels in love with Max.
Happily Jack’s allergies are under control and now allow us to share our home and hearts with not only Max, our Numero Uno cat, but our 8 other cats.
