Meet Geo, our third cat. His name is actually Georgio, aka Prince Geo. This regal cat my prince. Geo is an Apple Head Siamese. We already had Max, my Numero Uno and Simon. How Geo joined the family is a fun story.
I was at work one day when a lady came into my pet store with some flyers. She was selling Siamese kittens and wanted to post a flyer about them in my store. The poster had a picture of 6 kittens and they were all so adorable. The poster was up for a week and a half when I received a call from this same lady who asked to meet with me... she later arrived with a pet carrier containing 3 of the 6 kittens advertised.
She was upset and sad. I asked her what happened. She told me that the mother cat was pregnant again and that the vet had told her that she would have to separate the kittens from the mother cat. The kittens were still trying to suckle the mother which was not healthy for her and the new baby kittens that were now in her belly.
Since she didn't want anything to happen to the mother cat, she decided to come to me hoping that I would help her find homes for the kittens. The kittens could already eat on their own, which was good. She had been able to sell three of them. I told her that I would take all of them and find them good homes.
Find them good homes did I say? Well, despite huge concerns about what my husband would have to say about more cats in the house I arrived home carrying a big pet carrier with all 3 kittens in it. The kittens were by now two and a half months but since they were big and healthy the carrier was a bit heavy for me. When I got home I called my husband and asked him to look out the window and come to help me. He poked his head out and saw me with the carrier. He said "another cat"!
When we got upstairs I opened the carrier and out ran not one but all three little kittens. Jack’s eyes popped out of his head! "Three of them, wow, what are you going to do?" I told him I would find them homes and that was that.
I called my friend and asked her if she was interested in a Siamese kitten. She came to my house the same night and picked up a kitten (who is now called Gizmo). Then I called my other friend and she picked up her kitten (who is now called Nigel) the next day.
One week later I still had the last kitten of the three and of course I was beginning to get close to him. My husband Jack said, "Oh! Honey... he's already used to the other 2 cats we have, so let’s just keep him." So that is how this regal Siamese kitten became our third cat...we love them all!!!!
