Beauty and the Beast are the names of my two goldfish. I have not had these fish for long. I felt for a long time that I wanted to have a pet, but didn't know just what to get.
Since my job requires that I travel a lot, I figured that fish would be the best idea. My friends said that they'd help out with the feeding when I have to go away, so that all works.
Off to the local pet store... I got a lot of good information from them about starting an aqaurium and keeping fish as a hobby.
Wow... sure is a lot to know! But I've made notes, gathered all the aquarium supplies... then, lights, action and roll 'em... went back and got the fish, once everything was set up properly.
I decided to get an extra large aquarium so that the fish would have lots of room to be able to swim around and play. I've read a lot of articles about the very small bowls that people keep fish in and find this really sad. I also bought lots of nice plants in which they can hide, rest and play.
I'm really glad I decided to get pet fish. They are lovely to watch... very soothing. I think they like me... I talk to them when I get home and they seem to like that. They really get excited when it is feeding time.
I've done quite a lot of reading about keeping fish and I don't want too many fish, but think I may get a few Neon Tetras as well to keep Beaty and the Beast company as they are really fun to watch.
