I'm not sure what category my pet should go into so I just decided that because Cappi is so amazing that Amazing Animals was the best place in the Star time capsule.
Cappi is a goat... a cashmere goat actually. We thought of calling him Cash because of this... you know, short for Cashmere.
The other reason we might call him that is that he makes money for me. All the wool that is combed from Cappi is considered to be mine, so when we sell the wool I get funds for school and fun.It is nice to have a pet that pays instead of having to spend a lot on it.
My family has a farm where we raise both Cashmere and Angora goats. We sell their wool... as you know the cashmere wool is very popular and quite expensive. It is so soft and beautiful and the Angora goats provide mohair which is also used for finer clothing.
Cappi is very energetic and a lot of fun to watch. He loves to climb on top of his hut and munch hay. He loves when I bring him an apple, carrot or just some corn... sometimes even leftover pop corn. Once he got his horns caught in the fence and was not really mad. Cappi and I are both glad that my Dad was able to help out.
Cappi and the other goats do not take much work at all... they roam around and graze. We don't have to walk them or feed them and they are very healthy and strong, so not many vet visits. The goats love to butt heads and climb on everything they can. Like deer, the males are called bucks, the females are called does and of course the babies are called kids!
