Animals have always been a part of Susan’s life and she continues her ongoing work with continued education through programs such as Purdue's Principles & Techniques of Behavior Modification course, which deals with canine development, social structure and prevention of behavior problems including aggression, Bob & Marian Bailey’s beginning through advanced operant conditioning course.

Susan and her own dogs, Skye & Reece are certified therapy teams who work with both children and adults. Her past training experience includes obedience, article search, obstacle course, tracking, drug detection and personal protection.

Approximately 10-yrs ago Susan decided to bring her expertise to the general public by teaching puppy and dog pet manners, agility, therapy dog team training, and service dog training, problem behavior modification including aggression, all while using positive reinforcement.  Susan was asked to join the staff of E-Training For Dogs (the "E" stands for online courses, she only teaches via positive reinforcement) as one of their instructors.

Susan is a nation-wide consultant and public speaker. She was hired by the city of Fort Wayne, IN to re-write their head start program and teach their trainers how best to train the dogs.

Susan holds two dog-related product patents. One for the creation of the Anxiety Wrap TM, a therapeutic wrap that calms animals, and is often used to lessen and/or end the fear of thunderstorms in dogs and cats in addition to being used for fear-based issues. Her second patent is for the gentle Face Wrap, which works on the same principle as the Anxiety Wrap to decrease fear and frustration in dogs and replace such stress and emotions with calmness and relaxation. Both products are internationally sold and used by veterinarians, trainers, behaviorists, Tellington Touch practitioners, animal chiropractors and acupuncturists.

Susan and her husband, Ron live in rural Indiana along with their two dogs, four cats and two horses.
