The Dalmation dog is a very popular family pet. It is the only dog in the world that has spots! Usually the spots are black, but sometimes they are a reddy-brown called "liver" colored.

Anyone who has watched Walt Disney's 101 Dalmations can quickly identify this dog breed when they see it. This breed of dog is classed as a non-sporting group of dog at dog show competitions such as Crufts and Westminster Dog Shows.

Throughtout history this lovely and smart dog has been used to help fire departments search for people in fires. For this reason it is also known as the Fire Truck Dog, and even further back in history, the Dalmation was the dog that accompanied horse drawn carriages in the Unied Kingdom because of its unique and elegant appearance.
