Million Dollar Pet Pix

The entire website started with the concept of the PetPix Time Capsule which uses a computer program called a pixel script.

The pet time capsule is made up of oodles and oodles of pixels. Pixels are what makes up the picture on a computer screen. Pixels are very very small... about the size of a period. So on a screen there are millions of pixels.

So, we use the word Pix as a short form of the word pixel. We also use it to refer to the word pictures as in pet photos or pet pics like the ones we feature in our pet time capsule.

"Pix" is a short form for the words pixels and pics (pic is a short form for picture or photos). How about that! So, when you go to the time capsule to buy pixels to "make your pet a STAR" you are actually getting a block of 100 pixels if you buy a regular-sized star. The larger star is four times bigger (400 pixels) and that's why it costs four times more.

The million dollar part of the name is a way to say that this site is to show off people's one-in-a-million pet. Everyone thinks of their pet as being worth at least a million dollars since they are so precious, right? Plus the million stand for the million pixels that make up the PetPix Time Capsule.
