 June has been designated "Make Your Pet A Star Month" in The National Events Registry and the first annual One-in-a-Million Dog photo contest is here to help celebrate!
This dog-photo contest is free to registered members of the Million Dollar PetPix Time Capsule at MillionDollarPetPix.com.
We believe this pet photo contest will be a lot of fun. It will give people a chance to win some excellent prizes while also helping a worthy cause... a number of Therapy and Guide Dogs around the country.
On August 30th … we’ll let our blog and e-zine readers know where they can check out all of the contest entries… and how they can vote on the ones they like best, hopefully yours!
CONTEST CATEGORIES
We want to find those one-in-a-million pets that can take best of place for:
1- Dog with the best million dollar smile (2 prizes)
2- Dog with the most outrageous outfit (2 prizes)
3- Dog with the best million dollar pose (2 prizes)
WHAT YOU COULD WIN
First Prize: At the end of the contest, the photo with the largest number of visitor votes for the category entered will be declared the first place winner and receive the first place cash prize for that category of $100.00 by bank check. NOTE: The three first-prize winners will also have their winning pet photos featured in the MillionDollarPetPix calendar for 2009 in addition to their individual first-place prizes.
Second Prize: The photo with the second largest number of visitor votes for the category will be declared the second place winner and receive the second place prize for the category of a large star in the Million Dollar PetPix Time Capsule (value $79.80).
Grand Prize: The first-prize-winning photos for each of the three categories will then be judged on the basis of best overall photo by an independent judge and the winner will receive the grand prize of a RoamEO pet location device for dogs (value $419.00).
Honorable Mentions: There will also be two Honorable Mentions for each category.
NOTE: Visitors may vote once only for a dog in each category of the contest. This is monitored and regulated by the site voting program.
HOW TO ENTER:
The One-in-a-Million Dog Photo Contest begins on June 15th, 2008 at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on August 15th, 2008 at 11:59:59 p.m.
This is a free contest for registered members of the Million Dollar PetPix Time Capsule (found at http://www.MillionDollarpetPix.com) who have made their pet dog a star in this time capsule for pets.
The photos (maximum three) that you submit (along with the story of your pet dog) are the photos that will be voted on for the chance to win a prize in one of three categories:
1) best million dollar dog smile
2) most outrageous dog outfit
3) best million dollar pose
A grand prize will be awarded to the person whose dog photo best combines all three categories.
(NOTE: If you have more than one dog that you'd like to include in this dog photo contest, you may register for up to four memberships in the Million Dollar PetPix Time Capsule.)
NOT YET A MEMBER?
New registrations are welcomed for the duration of the photo contest up until midnight August 14th, 2008. To register to make your pet a star and to be eligible for the One-in-a-Million Photo Contest click on the Dog Photo Contest link in the menu at http://www.MillionDollarPetPix.com and follow the registration procedures stated. No other attempt at Internet or email registration will be eligible.
Once you've completed your membership registration and star purchase an email will be sent to you outlining the size and format requirements for the photo submissions. Photos must be of pets only. No people and no text in photos please! Name your digital files with your dog's first and last name, (i.e. FidoSmith.jpg). All photos (maximum three per member registration) must show only one pet dog and you must be the owner of that dog.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS:
Contest winners will be notified and provided with appropriate forms as outlined under General Regulations in the Photo Contest Rules and Regulations.
Names of the winners and their winning photos will be posted at MillionDollarPetPix.com and also on our blog at PetPixToday.com
PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the contest period (one to each winner), for a total of 7 winners for this 2008 One-in-a-Million Dog-Photo Contest.
