ONE-IN-A-MILLION DOG PHOTO CONTEST - June 15th to August 15th, 2008
(extended on July 31st, 2008)
CONTEST ELIGIBILITY
The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec). Entrants must have reached the age of majority in their state, province or territory of residence as of the date of entry. Employees of Million Dollar PetPix, its respective affiliated or subsidiary companies or members of an employee’s immediate family and/or those individuals living in the same household of each are NOT eligible.
LIMITS ON ENTRIES AND VOTING:
If you have more than one dog that you'd like to include in this dog photo contest, you may register for up to four memberships in the Million Dollar PetPix Time Capsule, which then allows you to enter up to four dogs' photos in this contest.
You must have all ownership rights in and to the photo(s) that you submit. All entries become property of the MillionDollarPetPix.com and will not be returned. Each entrant warrants the originality of each entry submitted and that all rights in each entry submitted including the copyright in the image are held by the entrant at the time of submission. Photos should be of your dog only – no people or text in photos will be accepted.
Submission of entry constitutes your consent to transfer to MillionDollarPetPix all rights, title and interest in the entry including the copyright. Entrants relinquish all rights to any submitted material. Submissions must not infringe the rights of any third party and must be suitable for publication.
In consideration of accepting the submitted entry, the entrant grants Million Dollar PetPix “Sponsor,” and others acting under the authority of Sponsor, the right to copy, reproduce, publish, display, and use the photo and submitted information for any and all marketing, advertising, or publicity purposes. The photo may be cropped, edited, or otherwise altered in connection to this use.
Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost or late entries. Sponsor reserves the right to reject any submission for any reason. All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and none will be returned.
GENERAL REGULATIONS
All federal, state, provincial, territorial and local laws and regulations apply. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Each winner must sign an affidavit of eligibility in compliance with the rules and a publicity release within fifteen (15) days after notification is attempted. Failure to provide the affidavit and release will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner.
Unless prohibited by law, each entrant consents to the use by Sponsor, and others acting under the authority of Sponsor, of the entrant’s name, address (City, State/Province/Region and Country only) and the submitted dog photos for publicity purposes without additional compensation.
Each contest winner is responsible for paying any and all taxes on his or her prize(s). By accepting prize, winner agrees that the Sponsor, its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and their directors, employees, representatives and agents, will have no liability whatsoever for, and will be held harmless by winner for any liability for any injury, loss or damages of any kind to persons, including death, and property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize or participation in this contest or any prize related activity.
In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The "authorized account holder" is deemed the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization
that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. The potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry.
Disclaimer:
If for any reason the Contest cannot be run as planned for any reason, (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest), the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and award those prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to cancellation or termination.
Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any interruption, deletion, error, omission, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, destruction, theft or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Sponsor's Blog and Website:
Sponsor will pick a number of the submitted photos to be featured on our main website and in our online blog. Photos submitted from entrants living in locations ineligible to win the contest may still be featured in the blog and on the main website.
Entries and Contest Duration:
Submissions of digital photos should be made as outlined in the instruction email that is sent to you when you register your membership and make your pet a star in the Million Dollar PetPix Time Capsule located at: http://www.MillionDollarPetPix.com
Only entries submitted during the dates defined below are eligible for this contest. Submission dates will be determined based on Eastern Standard Time. This contest is being held for one month. It opens on June 15th, 2008 and closes on August 15th, 2008.
Voting (Rating) and Judging:
Three (3) first-place winners, three (3) second-place winners, three honorable mentions and one (1) grand-prize winner will be chosen for this contest.
The first-place winning photographs (3 - one from each category) will be judged for the grand prize. Judging will be independent and based upon originality (30%), photographic quality (20%), composition (20%), and the short story submitted with the photo (30%).
Visitors may vote once only for a dog in each category of the contest using the rating tool found on each entry's page.
All judging decisions are final and at the discretion of the Sponsor.
